2013 Press

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, PRESS RELEASE, 9 JULY 2013 AT 9 A.M. (EEST)

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has been awarded an order to supply 20 reachstackers and 20 forklift trucks to Pacific Materials Handling, one of Kalmar's primary dealers servicing the Australian Pacific territory. The order has been booked into Cargotec's 2013 second quarter order intake.

The order, which is scheduled for delivery starting quarter three 2013, will significantly boost Pacific Materials Handling's already impressive portfolio of Kalmar equipment.

Kalmar DRT450 reachstackers provide 45 tonnes capacity in the first row. Destined for terminals across the region, they have been specifically designed to meet the needs of Asia-Pacific customers. Built in Kalmar's Shanghai factory, the machines can stack 9'6" containers up to five high and feature a wheelbase of 6250mm, providing enhanced stability and manoeuvrability.

The DRT450 series is available with a hydraulic sliding cabin and a choice of two engine options to comply with the latest legislation requirements. The machines have earned an enviable reputation for delivering high performance, whilst keeping costs of ownership to a minimum.

Kalmar DCG160-6 forklift trucks are suitable for all kind of industrial and stevedoring applications. Featuring 16 tonne capacity at 600mm load centres, the trucks are the first to incorporate the new Kalmar EGO cabin. This was highlighted by Pacific Materials Handling as a key factor in the selection process as the cab is Kalmar's most productive driving environment to date, delivering higher productivity, efficiency and safety attributes.

Kalmar's G-Generation trucks also feature new electric and hydraulic systems, further improving the driver experience and delivering additional servicing benefits to reduce lifetime operation costs.

Commenting on the order, Peter McLean, Vice President, Australia and New Zealand at Kalmar said, "Once again, Kalmar has delivered an innovative and highly productive solution to meet our customers' needs.  Lowering the cost of ownership is increasingly becoming a critical factor and this is where our reachstackers and forklift trucks excel through designing and building machines tailored for the region. We are delighted to see Pacific Materials Handling go from strength to strength in the development of their business and naturally very pleased that Kalmar equipment features so significantly in their portfolio".

Pacific Materials Handling is a principal Kalmar dealer, recognised as a high quality national supplier, providing comprehensive material handling solutions to some of the largest manufacturing, port and logistics companies throughout Australia.
