Kalmar heavy-duty forklifts to help VIX Logística improve productivity and efficiency

2019 Trade press

CARGOTEC CORPORATION, TRADE PRESS RELEASE, 2 APRIL 2019 AT 3 PM (EEST)

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has concluded an agreement to supply VIX Logística, Brazil with five (5) Kalmar forklift trucks with WOKO magnetic lifting magnets. The order, which includes spare parts package as well as a Kalmar Insight performance management tool, was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q1 order intake.

Vix Logística is an integrated logistics services provider headquartered in Espírito Santo in southeastern Brazil. Its services include vehicle fleet leasing and management, transport of people, material handling, automotive logistics and dedicated logistics, with over 8,000 employees across 80 locations. The company already operates a fleet of 38 Kalmar forklifts, which are used for material handling and logistics operations.

Bruno Pretti Chieppe, Executive Officer, Vix Logística: "We have been very impressed with the Kalmar forklifts already in our fleet, so it was only natural that we approached Kalmar when we were looking to invest in new machines. We fully expect the new forklifts to increase flexibility and efficiency of our operations, increasing productivity across the fleet. Part of that support will be the Kalmar Insight performance management and optimisation tool, which will help us optimise out operations and improve maintenance planning."

Erika Barbosa, Vice President Market Area Latin America, Kalmar: "We are delighted to extend our cooperation with Vix Logística with this new order. We are the market leaders in heavy-duty forklifts in Brazil and are proud of the confidence placed in both our products and our service support."

Kalmar's heavy-duty forklifts are trusted by customers around the world for their reliability, flexibility and precision in a wide variety of demanding terminal and heavy-industry applications. The trucks supplied to VIX Logística will come complete with WOKO magnetic lifting magnets and will be used to move large steel sheets. As part of the agreement, Kalmar will also supply parts for all 43 of Vix Logística's Kalmar machines, reducing the cost of spare parts and reducing delivery times. All machines in the delivery will be shipped with telemetry control, meaning Kalmar can remotely monitor the machines in parallel with the company and proactively suggest maintenance actions or optimisation adjustments.
